Duties * Support and carry out the commanderâ€s family readiness goals
* Act as advisor to commander on FRG matters.
* Provide overall leadership and guidance of the FRG in accordance with AR 608-1, Appendix J
* Gather and disseminate information on activities at the battalion level and above
* Act as liaison between company commander and FRG Volunteers and Families with effective communication
* Identify needs or unique problems of unit families
* Attend monthly FRG steering committee meetings
* Schedule, prepare, and lead FRG meetings
* Attend FRG Training events
* Support & attend/work fundraising events
* Track FRG appropriated fund budget
* Support spouses & families – ex. organize/host events
* Work with FRG to compile information for the BN newsletter
* Coordinate administrative and log

Credential or License Required No
Qualifications Knowledge of family readiness programs, unit structure and procedures, and post agencies and services.

Ability to work well with others.

Ability to communicate in effective manner. Must be pro active, flexible, and willing to learn.

Training FRG Leader Training
AFTB I-III

*Training should be completed within 6 months of appointment.

Orientation Follow up with FRSA for volunteer training within 3 months of appointment.
Time Required 6 to 8 hours a week.
Schedule dependent on other scheduled events.

One-year commitment

Evaluation
Benefits Interaction with fellow colleagues, Soldiers, to include their family members, and command team. May assist with gaining leadership knowledge and experience, assisting in future endeavors. Volunteer Service Records (VSR) available. Awards and certificates may be awarded upon discretion.
